Printer drivers dépréciés ?

J'ai voulu voir les messages d'erreur de CUPS (/var/log/cups/error_log )
Et dedans, il y a un message :
[04/May/2024:07:25:29 +0200] Printer drivers are deprecated and will stop working in a future version of CUPS. See https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups/issues/103
WTF ? (le lien donne un longue conversation en anglais...)

Note : je suis l'heureux utilisateur d'une Brother HL-3170CDW en interface ethernet, avec les pilotes fournis par Brother.

Peut-être que Brother fournit un pilote plus récent ?

Pour Arch et dérivés on a brother-hl3170cdw 1.1.4-1 sur les dépôts AUR.

Sinon, la page de test donne un pilote version 4.0.9 et synaptic affiche pour "printer-driver-brlaser" une version 6.3

Le dépôt AUR, est prévu pour Arch Linux et dérivés.

Je suis sur Artix Linux OpenRC XFCE.

Yyay, Trizen, Paru, Yaourtix, etc. sont des "AUR Helpers" :
